Comm: Morley and Murata

Commission for ~maji of characters belonging to her and a friend.

I had particular fun with the girl. She's apparently supposed to be the equivalent of an Asian girl living in the equivalent of Europe in a sort of late 18th century/Victorian setting. Because the pictures she showed me of her young man showed him in late 18th century clothing, I decided to give her a dress in a period to match.

This dress is actually based on dresses that popped up in the 1780's and 1790's, which were actually based of the clothing of the Ottoman Empire, which quite fascinated Europeans at the time. In order to give it a bit of Japanese flare, I added an obi rather than a simple cinch and gave it a Japanese style crane pattern, which I'm very proud of, as I did it entirely by hand.
