Submitted for =DracheaRannak's Sailor Sun/Sailor Earth contest. Again, just WAY too nostalgic for me to resist.

Weapon: The Solar Gauntlet (shaped like a winged lion because lions are creatures commonly associated with the sun)
Technique: Sun Heavenly Ladder, Descend (A flare shoots from the lion gauntlet's 'mouth' into the sky and a beam of light shines down on the enemy. It is a finishing attack, and the effect is especially impressive on overcast days, when the flare pierces the clouds dramatically and the ray of sunshine is very visable, or at night, when the light comes from the stars)

Personality: A diva to the core, Hahana absolutely adores being the center of attention and has a flare for the theatrical. She is determined and driven and enjoys her hectic life, which she handles so well that she manages to find quite a lot of time to party with her friends. Like Usagi, she also has strong opinions about the sanctity of life, although unlike Usagi, when this gets her into rows with people such as Haruka and Michiru, she tends to make her point with a few cutting comments and a whithering look rather than tears.
Background: Way back in the day, Sailor Sun was a goddess under whose blessing the Silver Millennium flurished. However, being a goddess, she was restricted from direct interference with mortal affairs, and was quite horrified at being able to do nothing during the attack on the moon but grant Queen Serenity courage in the final push. Determined not to be so helpless again, she opted to incarnate herself as a mortal, exchanging her divine powers for the far more limited powers of a sailor senshi and vowing that when Princess Serenity needed her most, she would be there.
In her current life, Hahana is an orphaned Maori girl who was adopted by a Japanese couple then living in Wellington. A few years ago, she solidified her current status as a child starlet by landing the leading part in the latest childrens-fantasy-series-turned-international-blockbuster-filmed-in-New-Zealand. Since then, the family has used some of Hahana's money to buy a beautiful house in Kamakura, and they currently live between there and an apartment in Wellington while Hahana reprises her breakout role and attends an international school in Tokyo. Hahana quite enjoys the change, as she had been smitten with Tokyo ever since discovering a) how much closer it is to LA and b) Harajuku. She aspires to be cast as a Bond girl and win an Oscar.

Notes on her design:

I wasn't intending make it all military - really I wasn't. I wanted to go frilly, but she just sat there going, "You're not going to like this design until you go military" and eventually I relented and she came out looking like a rocker chick. The wings were inspired by Usagi's final fuku. I figured Sailor Sun would be special like her and would therefore probably have wings too. For her skirt, I couldn't quite decide if I wanted to go with the eternal form skirt, or with the regular/super form skirt, so I combined them. Finally, note that the symbol for the sun is a circle with a dot in the middle, and that I've worked it into her design in several places.
